On September 17, 2017, the last one of the five major feasts of the Armenian Apostolic Church coincided for Armenians of Batumi with the traditional preparation of harisa.

Here, harisa has been prepared on the third Sunday of September for the past four years now and is dedicated to the Musaler heroic battle.

On November 17, 2017, the Calouste Gulbenkian Hall of the Hayartun Center at the Armenian Diocese in Georgia hosted a literary and musical event entitled “A Broken Silence” given by Boheme Ensemble (Yerevan), which was dedicated the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Georgia. With the blessings of His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, Editor-in-Chief and Director of “Yerevak” Magazine Gevork Tadevosyan and the Cultural Department of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia held the event. The evening's cultural program included performances by poet Gor Harutyunyan, musicians Vahe Kochar, Ruben Kamalyan and Gagik Shiboyan. In attendance were the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan; the Sacristan of the St. Etchmiadzin Church, Rev. Father Manuk Zeynalyan; the Armenian faithful, intellectuals and youth of Tbilisi.

On September 16, 2017, it was a real celebration in the Dadesh village of Akhalkalaki, a region with alpine lush greenery and healthy climate of the mountains. Local villagers, children and adults alike, people who had fled their native village long ago, together with their families, friends and relatives had arrived to attend the solemn re-consecration service of the Surb Astvatsatsin (Holy Mother of God) Church, decades after its first consecration.

On September 15, 2017, the new 2017/18 academic year started in Georgia’s educational institutions. Currently, there are 132 educational institutions in Georgia teaching in Armenian, one of which is a public school in Mirzoevka village of Marneuli region. There is a mixed population in the village, including Armenians, Georgians, Azeris, Assyrians. The school, which has only 50 students, had been dilapidated.
