Rev. Father Tigran Mkhitaryan
Priest Ter-Tigran Mkhitaryan (baptismal name Artur) was born on 22 May 1983 in Gymri RA.
He studied in Gyumri secondary school № 29 named after Mesrop Mashtots starting in 1990, and graduated in 2000.
He entered the Gyumri Theological Seminary in 2000 and graduated in 2003.
He entered the Gevorkian Theological Seminary at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin in 2003 and graduated in 2006.
In 2006 he was ordained to the diaconate by Archbishop Ter-Nerses Pozapalyan.
From 2006 to 2007 he was appointed to serve at the Christian Education Center.
In 2007 he successfully defended his final theses entitled “Spiritual Education of Children with Delays in Mental and Physical Development”
From 2007 to 2009 he served in the RA Armed Forces.
In July 2009 he was ordained as a secular priest by Archbishop Ter-Khajhak Parsamyan.
In September 2009 he was appointed to serve in the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia as a Spiritual shepherd of Armenians in Marneuli region.
In January 2010 he was appointed to serve in the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia as a Spiritual shepherd of Armenians living in villages of Samtkhe-Javakheti, Adigeni and Abastumani regions.
On January 2011 served in the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia as a Spiritual shepherd of Armenians living in Akhaltsikhe Samtse-Javakheti region, Tsughrut, Tsira, villages and in Borjomi.
On 1 February 2012 he was appointed to serve in Surb Sargis Church in Diliska village of Samtskhe Javakheti region and the adjacent Armenian communities, where serves invariably at present.
In 2012 by the order of the Catholicos of All Armenians, His Holiness Karekin II, he was granted the right to wear the Pectoral Cross.
He is married and has two children.
