REVEREND FATHER ANANIA ANTONYAN

Artak AntonyanRev. Father Anania Antonyan was born on September 25, 1993, in Tbilisi, Georgia.

In 1998, he was admitted to Armenian School No. 95 in Tbilisi.

In 2010, he transferred to Georgian-Armenian School No. 81.

In 2011, he graduated from the Armenian section of Public School No. 81 in Tbilisi.

In 2012, he was admitted to and completed the preparatory course of the Trbanjyan Seminary of Harichavank of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

In September 2012, he was admitted to the Vazgenian Theological Seminary of Sevan.

In 2016, he graduated from the Vazgenian Theological Seminary, earning a bachelor’s degree. In the same year, he continued his studies at the Gevorgian Theological Seminary, enrolling in the master’s program. During his student years, Anania Antonyan was a member of the “Etchmiadzin” Choir of the seminary and participated in spiritual choral festivals held in Russia and Belarus.

In 2017, within the framework of the pastoral visit of His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians, to the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church in the United States, he took part in cultural events as a member of the “Etchmiadzin” Choir.

In December 2016, on the Feast of Saint Stephen the First Deacon, he was ordained a deacon by His Grace Bishop Mushegh Babayan.

In 2018, he completed the master’s program at the Gevorgian Theological Seminary. In the same year, he was appointed to serve in the Georgian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church by His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians.

From July 1, 2018, by the order of His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakanyan, the Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia, Deacon Artak Antonyan was assigned to serve at the Cathedral of Saint George in Tbilisi.

Since 2020, he has been serving at the Cathedral of Saint George.

On May 3, 2026, he was ordained to the priesthood and consecrated by His Eminence Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisian, and received the priestly name Rev. Father Anania Antonyan.
