Grace Bishop Kirakos Davtyan

His Grace Bishop Kirakos Davtyan (baptismal name is Gevork) was born on May 20, 1982, in Tbilisi, Georgia.

From 1989 to 1999, studied at the local secondary school № 104 in Tbilisi, Georgia.

From 1999 to 2005, studied at the Gevorkian Theological Seminary of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, Vagharshapat, Republic of Armenia.

On December 26, 2005, was ordained as a deacon by His Grace Archbishop Nerses Pozapalian in the Mother Cathedral of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and was appointed to serve as clerk-secretary at Karekin I Centre of Theology and Armenology.

On January 11, 2006, successfully defended his graduation thesis entitled "Episodes from the history of Armenian-Georgian church relations of the 6th-7th centuries"

On February 5, 2006, was ordained a celibate priest by His Eminence Archbishop Yeznik Petrosyan and given the priestly name of Kirakos.

On March 23, 2006, by the order of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians was appointed to serve at the Diocese Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church of Georgia.

On April 1, 2006, by the order of His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, was appointed to serve at the Diocese of Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church of Georgia as the Pastor of Armenians of Ajaria and Saint Savior (Surb Prkich) Church in Batumi, Georgia.

From 2008 to 2012, served at the Armenian Diocese of Australia and New Zealand as the Spiritual Pastor of the Church of Holy Mother of God (Surb Astvatsatsin) in Melbourne, Australia.

From 2013 to 2015, served at the Armenian Diocese of New Nakhijevan and Russia as the Assistant to the Diocesan Primate.

From 2015 to 2019, served as the Locum Tenens of the Diocese of Gegharkunik, Gavar, Republic of Armenia.

In 2015, under the presidency of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, Very Rev. Fr. Kirakos Davtyan successfully defended his doctoral thesis for the ecclesiastical degree of Archimandrite (Vardapet) and received the rank of Archimandrite. The thesis was entitled: “Comparative analysis of Armenian and Russian church feasts folk ceremonies.”

On June 15, 2019, by the Pontifical order of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, Very Rev. Fr. Kirakos Davtyan, completing his service as the Locum Tenens of the Diocese in Gegharkunik, has been appointed to serve as the Locum Tenens of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia.

From June 1, 2022, by the Pontifical Order of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, Rev. Father Kirakos Davtyan has been appointed to serve as the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia.

On October 8, 2023, was ordained as bishop by His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
