REVEREND FATHER ARARAT GUMBALYAN

Ter AraratReverend Father Ararat Gumbalyan (baptismal name is Pertos) was born on June 28, 1985 in Echmiadzin, Armenia.

From 1992 to 2002, Rev. Fr. Ararat Gumbalyan studied at secondary school № 4 named after Khoren Abovyan, in Echmiadzin, Armenia.

From 2002 to 2008, Rev. Fr. Ararat Gumbalyan studied at the Gevorkian Theological Seminary of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

In December 25, 2006, he was ordained as a deacon by His Grace Ararat Galtagchyan.

In 2008, Rev. Fr. Ararat Gumbalyan successfully defended his final theses entitled “Bibliography of “Sion” Magazine from 1991 to 2000.”

In 2008, he was appointed at St. Gregory the Illuminator Mother Cathedral of Yerevan to serve as a deacon.

In 2008, he was consecrated and ordained as a secular (married) priest by Hid Grace Bishop Sahak Mashalyan, and given the priestly name of Ararat.

In 2009, by the order of His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakanyan, the Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia, Rev. Fr. Ararat Gumbalyan was appointed the Pastor of the Armenian communities in Adjaria, Guria, and Imereti and the Pastor of Surb Prkich (Holy Savior) Church in Batumi, Georgia, under the authority and supervision of the Primate of the Diocese.
