REVEREND FATHER VIRAP GHAZARYAN
Reverend Father Virap Ghazaryan (baptismal name is Ashot) was born in 1973, in the village of Aghavnatun, Armenia.
From 1980-1990, Rev. Fr. Virap Ghazaryan studied at primary school № 10, named after Movses Khorenatsi, in Etchmiadzin, Armenia.
From 1990 to 1998, Rev. Fr. Virap Ghazaryan studied at the Gevorkian Theological Seminary of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
On July 4, 1998, he was ordained as deacon by His Eminence Archbishop Shahe Achemyan.
On December 25, 2000, Rev. Fr. Virap Ghazaryan successfully defended his final theses entitled “Printing House of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin from 1771 to 1920”.
From 1998 to 2000, Rev. Fr. Ghazaryan was appointed to serve at the Diocese of the Armenian Church of New Nakhichevan and Russia.
In 2000, Rev. Fr. Virap was appointed to serve at the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Armavir as the Spiritual Advisor in the village Artimet and in serval other villages of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Armavir. In the same year, he transferred to serve at the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Aragatsotn as the Assistant of the Primate of Diocese; meanwhile serving as the Spiritual Counsellor in Aparan region, Armenian.
On January 14, 2001, he was consecrated and ordained as a secular (married) priest by His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians, and given the priestly name of Virap.
From February 22 to June 2015, Rev. Fr. Virap Ghazaryan was appointed to serve at the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Aragatsotn as the Pastor in the Spiritual Pastorate of Aparan, Armenia.
On July 8, 2015, Rev. Fr. Ghazaryan was appointed to serve at the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Ukraine as the Pastor of Armenian community in Zaporozhye, Ukraine.
On May 1, 2016, Rev. Fr. Virap Ghazaryan was transferred from the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Ukraine of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia, and was appointed in the Armenian communities in Marneuli, Tsiteli, Mirzoevka, Shahumian, Damia, Gyulibakh, Khozhorni, Tsopk, Brdzador, Ulianovka, Khokhmeli, Chanakhchi, Akhkiorpi, in the Kvemo Kartli region as the Pastor, under the authority and supervision of the Primate of the Diocese.
On September 1, 2016, by the order of His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakanyan, the Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia, Rev. Fr. Virap Ghazaryan was appointed at St. Echmiadzin Church in Tbilisi, Georgia, as the Pastor.
On September 1, 2018, by the order of His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakanyan, the Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia, Rev. Fr. Virap Ghazaryan was reappointed in the Armenian communities in Marneuli, Tsiteli, Mirzoevka, Shahumian, Damia, Gyulibakh, Khozhorni, Tsopk, Brdzador, Ulianovka, Khokhmeli, Chanakhchi, Akhkiorpi, in the Kvemo Kartli region as the Pastor.
Form 2019, by the order of His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakanyan, the Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia, Rev. Fr. Virap Ghazaryan returned to the service at St. Echmiadzin Church in Tbilisi, Georgia
In 2020, by the order of Very Reverend Archimandrite Father Kirakos Davtyan, the Locum Tenens of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia, Rev. Fr. Virap Ghazaryan was appointed to serve at the Cathedral of St. George in Tbilisi, Georgia, as the Pastor.
