In 1740, Archimandrite Anania is mentioned as the Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia. (“Archive of Armenian History” Book 1, Yerevan, ed. Academy of Sciences, 1984, p. 130).
