In 1772, Archimandrite Reteos is mentioned as the Messenger of the Assembly and the Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia. (“Archive of Armenian History”, Book 8, part 2, 1767-1776, Art. Priest Gyut Agayants, 1908, Tbilisi, p. 245).
