“All rise for the honorable judge”: new premiere of the youth theatre group of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia
On May 26, 2019, the “Vazgen I Catholicos of All Armenians” Youth and Community Center in Tbilisi (the Armenian Diocese in Georgia) was full of spectators. The play based on the “All rise for the honorable judge” drama (written by Perch Zeytunyants, dedicated to the avenger Soghomon Tehleryan) was performed by the efforts of Armenian activists, led by theatrical art lover Nika Ghazaryan.
In attendance were the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, accompanied by clergy, theatre art professionals and heads of community organizations, theater lovers and admirers.
The design of the stage, the free play of volunteer actors of various ages, made the performance in line with the content, interesting and emotional. Artistic director of the Petros Adamyan Tbilisi State Armenian Drama Theatre Armen Bayanduryan praised the young talented stage director Nika Ghazaryan and urged to continue to develop creative thinking through staging new plays.
The Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia highly appreciated the artistic steps of all the participants, their devotion to their work and activity. The Diocesan Primate also appreciated the activity of the Director of the Youth Department Valeri Badalyan and Project Coordinator Nina Seropova with the help of and due to the efforts of which the theatre group was formed.
