Blessing of Pomegranates Service at the Cathedral of Saint George
On December 31, 2021, Prayer of Thanks and Service of Blessing of Pomegranates were offered in the Cathedral of Saint George under the presidency of the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia Rev. Father Archimandrite Kirakos Davtyan.
During the ceremony, the Diocesan Primate spoke about the ending the old year and starting the new one with Prayer of Thanks and Blessing of Pomegranates Service offered in the all operating Armenian churches by the Pontifical Order of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians. He properly preached about the mystery of the ceremony, compared the pomegranate seeds and the people on the planet Earth, which are both similar but none of them is the same. And that all of them are united by faith, hope and love. Rev. Father congratulated those present on the new 2022 year, wishing peace, health and success in the New Year to the world and all people.
Under the leadership of Rev. Father Archimandrite Kirakos Davtyan and the singing of hymns by clergy and deacons, the pomegranates solemnly put on the Altar were blessed and distributed to the faithful.
Prayer of Thanks and Service of Blessing of Pomegranates the ceremonies of 2021 ended in the operating churches of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia and with good wishes the new 2022 year started.
