Good tidings of Glorious Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ at the Armenian Diocese in Georgia
On April 16, 2022, the lanterns of in temples lit, the curtain of church’s Holy Altar opened and Candlelight Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the operating churches of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. The Armenian churches were crowded; everywhere the faithful came to first hear the good news of Savior’s Resurrection.
Newly ordained priest Rev. Father Hovsep Harutyunyan celebrated Candlelight Divine Liturgy under the presidency of the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, Rev. Father Archimandrite Kirakos Davtyan, in Saint Etchmiadzin church in Avlabari, Tbilisi.
During the Divine Liturgy, in his sermon, Rev. Father Archimandrite Kirakos Davtyan touched upon the Holy Week’s days, the most important period of Christ’s earthly life, which tell us about the teachings, sufferings, death and resurrection of the last seven-day of Our Lord Jesus Christ’s life.
At the Holy Altar, Rev. Father conveyed the good tidings of Glorious Resurrection of Our Savior: “Krisdos haryav i merelots; orhnyal e harutyun Krisdosi” (“Christ is risen from the dead, blessed is the resurrection of Christ”). The faithful congratulated one another on the occasion of the Glorious Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, the Diocesan Primate congratulated the faithful on the occasion of the Feast of the Glorious Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, wishing peace, prosperity, progress and development.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, the faithful lit their candles from the lantern and returned home with the blessing of Our Savior and the Holy Light of Our Lord's Resurrection.
Afterwards, the first Home Blessing Service after the Feast of Resurrection of Jesus Christ was offered. Under the leadership of the Diocesan Primate and with the participation of clergy, bread, water and salt were blessed.
With the good tidings of Glorious Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the great Lent, which began 48 days ago, ended and concluded with fish, eggs and oil.
