Candlelight Divine Liturgy in the Armenian churches in Tbilisi

AOn April 20, 2019, the Eve of the Feast of the Glorious Resurrection of Jesus Christ, a Candlelight Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the churches of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. That day, according to established ceremony, lamps are lighted in the Church, the curtain of the Holy Altar is open, lit candles are distributed to the faithful, following which the Divine Liturgy is held.
The Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan presided over a Candlelight Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral of Saint George. The celebrant was the spiritual servant of Kvemo Kartli region Rev. Father Zaven Yazichyan. In attendance were diplomats from the RA Embassy in Georgia, honorary members of Armenian community in Tbilisi, guests and the faithful.
The churches were crowded: the faithful had come to hear the great tiding of Our Lord Jesus Christ's birth.
During the Divine Liturgy, Rev. Father announced the good news of the Lord's Resurrection. The Faithful welcomed each other on the occasion of the Glorious Resurrection of Christ conveying the great tiding.
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, the Diocesan Primate congratulated the faithful on the occasion of the Lord's Resurrection, asking the Lord to grant peace and prosperity to Armenia and Georgia.
Following the Divine Liturgy the faithful lit their candles from the lamp and return home with the blessing of Our Savior and the light of Holy Resurrection. Later the first Home Blessing Service at Easter was offered. Bread, water, and salt were blessed.
At the initiative of the godfather, Yuri Yeremyan, a reception took place of the church in the courtyard of the Cathedral of Saint George, in the "Vazgen I Catholicos of All Armenians" Center. People continue to attend the church until midnight.
