Melania Barseghyan's performing arts at "Hovhannes Tumanyan’s House" Center of Armenian Diocese in Georgia

On April 6, 2025, with the blessing of His Grace Bishop Kirakos Davtyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, honored artist of the Republic of Armenia and distinguished actress of the Petros Adamyan State Armenian Drama Theatre of Tbilisi, Melania Barseghyan took the stage at the "Hovhannes Tumanyan’s House" Scientific and Cultural Center with a performance that included recitation, song, and memoir —demonstrating an impressive range of transformations.
Revealing various episodes from the life of her grandmother Ustian, the renowned actress presented—through dialectal intonations, vivid depictions of regional life, and humorous expressions—the eventful life story of a woman who narrowly escaped the genocide, lost her children, was deprived of her home, and ultimately found a new beginning in her ancestral homeland.
At the conclusion of the event, the spiritual superintendent of the Hovhannes Tumanyan’s House" Scientific and Cultural Center, Rev. Father Kirakos Simonyan, referred to the event dedicated to Grandmother Ustian as one devoted to the Feast of the Annunciation.
Artistic Director of the Petros Adamyan State Armenian Drama Theatre of Tbilisi, Armen Bayanduryan, highlighting Melania Barseghyan’s professionalism and performance skills, noted that after many years of wandering, the artistic ensemble of Tbilisi’s historic theatre will soon once again welcome its audience—this time on the stage of a newly built, magnificent hall.
The audience appreciated Melania Barseghyan’s gifted performance and described the event as a true solo performance.
