Pilgrims of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia participated in Blessing of the Holy Muron and the Mother Cathedral re-consecration ceremonies
September 28-29, 2024 was recorded in the pages of Armenian history with the indelible ceremonies of Blessing of the Holy Muron and the Mother Cathedral re-consecration.
Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Kirakos Davtyan and General Prelate at Samtskhe-Javakheti and Tsalka’s General Prelacy Rev. Father Archimandrite Nshan Hmayakyan participated in the sacred ceremonies of Blessing of the Holy Muron and the Mother Cathedral re-consecration, Patriarchal Procession and Pontifical Divine Liturgy.
With the blessings and invitation of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, Nikoloz Pachuashvili, Member of the Holy Synod of the Georgian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan of Javakheti, Akhalkalaki, Kumurdo and Kars attended sacred ceremonies of the Armenian Church.
In those long-awaited days for Armenian Christians, with the blessings and support of the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Kirakos Davtyan, hundreds of faithful of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia from different regions and spiritual communities of Batumi, Akhalkalaki, Ninotsminda, Akhaltsikhe and Tsalka, Tbilisi and other Armenian-populated regions in Georgia, headed by Rev. Father Samvel Torosyan, Rev. Father Ararat Gumbalyan, Rev. Father Narek Tigranyan, Rev. Father Ghevond Tazayan, and accompanied by tbirs (clerks) and deacons witnessed and participated in the sacred ceremonies in the city of Vagharshapat, RA. The Blessing of the Holy Muron ceremony which took place under the motto "Seal of Identity", became a sacred event for every Armenian.
Thousands of pilgrims, after the Blessing of the Holy Muron ceremony, listened to the paternal message of the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, addressed to his people who suffered the horrors and losses of the war, with the wish that the new Myron will bring spiritual strength and the power for revival to the Armenian people.
On the Feast of the Holy Cross of Varag, after the renovation and the re-consecration ceremony of the Mother Cathedral by His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, the powerful Armenian Cathedral of Saint Etchmiadzin (301-303) which now became even more magnificent, reopened its doors.
Inspired by the new power of faith and spiritually strengthened the pilgrims, prayed with heartfelt devotion in the Cathedral and lit candles in various halls of the temple.
