Priestly Ordination of Seven Deacons of Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin
On May 3, 2026, on the Feast of the Discovery of the Holy Cross of the Lord, with the blessing of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, a priestly ordination and consecration took place at the Cathedral of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. The ceremony was officiated by His Eminence Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisian, Director of the Department of External Relations and Protocol of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
Seven deacons serving in various ecclesiastical structures of the Mother See were ordained to the priesthood. Among them was Deacon Artak Antonyan, serving at the Cathedral of Saint George in Tbilisi, Armenian Diocese in Georgia. Following his ordination and consecration, Deacon Artak Antonyan was given the priestly name Rev. Father Anania Antonyan.
