Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia participated in the appointment ceremony of the Evangelical-Lutheran Church Bishop
On January 22, 2023, the appointment ceremony of Rolf Barais was held in the Reconciliation of the Evangelical-Lutheran Church in Georgia, Tbilisi. The ceremony was attended by spiritual servants and faithful.
The ceremony was honored with the presence of the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia Rev. Father Archimandrite Kirakos Davtyan and the Pastor of Armenian villages in Kvemo-Kartli region Rev. Father Zaven Yazichyan.
Peter Fischer, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Georgia, His Grace Bishop Giuseppe Pazoto, Head of the Latin Order Catholic Department, Giorgi Zviadadze, Rector of Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary, and other honored guests attended the appointment ceremony of the Bishop of the Evangelical-Lutheran Church in Georgia.
Nino Chavchavadze, head of the Strategic Research, Analysis and Regional Service of the State Agency for Religious Issues of Georgia, congratulated on behalf of the Georgian government and wished success to the newly appointed Bishop of the Evangelical-Lutheran Church in Georgia.
On December 19, 2022, at the 7th session of the VI Synod of the Evangelical-Lutheran Church of Georgia and South Caucasus, Bishop Rolf Barais was appointed to serve as a pastor of the Evangelical-Lutheran Church in Georgia. Now he replaced Bishop Marcus Shokh.
