Teryan’s Day celebrated for 58th time in Gandza

On July 21, Teryan’s Poetry Day was celebrated in Gandza village, Ninotsminda region. According to the traditional agenda, hundreds of guests who arrived in Gandza from neighboring regions, Tbilisi, Armenia, and abroad visited the exhibition hall next to Vahan Teryan's house museum on the occasion of the holiday and participated in the Divine Liturgy celebrated by Pastor of Gandza Rev. Father Gevorg Asatryan at Saint Karapet Church in Gandza. After the Divine Liturgy, a field event took place which was opened by Levon Vardanyan, head of the Department of Culture of Ninotsminda Municipality. On the occasion of the holiday, Davit Vardiashvili, the first deputy of the state representative of Samtskhe-Javakheti, congratulated attendees. In her speech, the Mayor of Ninotsminda Municipality Anivard Mosoyan highlighted the importance of national cultural events in strengthening and developing friendly ties. Gisane Hovsepyan, Secretary of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, conveyed congratulations and blessings of Rev. Father Archimandrite Kirakos Davtyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, wishing those present to remain worthy of the national spiritual heritage.

RA Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Georgia Ashot Smbatyan, editor of “Vrastan” (Georgia) newsletter Van Bayburtyan, state, cultural, and public figures from Georgia and Armenia delivered speeches during the solemn part of the event.

The event was attended by representatives of the Parliament of Georgia, Ninotsminda, Akhalkalaki and Aspindza municipalities and city assemblies, as well as cultural sector representatives. Eugenia Markosyan, Head of the "Hayartun" Center of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, and Roza Zohrabyan, teacher of Saint Elias Prophet Sunday School and distinguished pedagogue, shared the festive joy with the people of Gandzi and Teryan admirers.
