On March 5, 2024, John A. Pennell, USAID Mission Director in Georgia, visited the Cathedral of Saint George of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. During his visit to the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia, USAID Mission Director John A. Pennell and Diocesan Primate His Grace Bishop Kirakos Davtyan discussed the important role of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia’s history and culture. The high-ranking officials also touched upon USAID’s partnership with Georgia, highlighting the support for tolerance and civic equality among members of the country’s diverse ethnic and religious communities. Mari Mikoyan, the head of the Diocesan Community Initiatives Development Foundation participated in the meeting.
