VISIT OF KAPAN ART SCHOOL STUDENTS TO TBILISI
On May 13-14, 2023, the "Hayartun" Educational Cultural and Youth Center of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia hosted the students of the Theatrical Art Department of the RA Kapan Art School. The guests performed Samvel Khalatyan's play "Don't Enter into Stranger Closet" in Calouste Gulbenkian Hall of "Hayartun" Center Galust Gulbenkyan Hall. It was warmly welcomed by the audience of Armenians from Tbilisi.
Eugenia Markosyan, Director of the "Hayartun" Educational and Cultural Center, highly appreciated the traditional cooperation between Syunik and the Diocesan "Hayartun" Center in her speech and expressed hope that the cultural collaboration will continue in other areas as well.
Rev. Father Kirakos Simonyan concluded the day by offering his blessings. The latter conveyed the blessings and best wishes of the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, Rev. Father Archimandrite Kirakos Davtyan. Rev. Father Kirakos Simonyan delivered a speech in which he appreciated the high-level art performance by the group and highlighted the ideological content of the performance, its relevance, and its importance for people.
The next day, May 14, the “House of Hovhannes Tumanyan” Center for Science and Culture of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia opened its welcoming doors to the students of the Theatrical Art Department students, who had an opportunity to learn about Hovhannes Tumanyan's life and activities in Tbilisi during an hour. Thanks to the tour guides, the guests were immersed in the Tumanyan era and got acquainted with the events which had taken place in the house of Hovhannes Tumanyan, Poet of All Armenians.
As Artur Gabrielyan, Head of the Theatrical Art Department, mentioned, Tumanyan’s world’s spirit and the welcoming atmosphere, as well as the atmosphere that prevailed here a hundred years ago were fully felt.
Students of the Theatrical Art Department of the Kapan Art School felt great satisfaction, love, and pride, with mixed feelings of unforgettable recall in their heart and soul. Tumanyan's spirit, embracing the noble ideas of humanity, patriotism, great friendship between the Armenian and Georgian peoples and all his high human values, was felt throughout the tour.
At the end of the tour, one of the students, Vigen Aghayan excited by what he saw and heard made a note in the book of impressions.
