REVEREND FATHER GEVORG ASATRYAN
Reverend Father Gevorg Asatryan (baptismal name is Garush) was born on January 31, 1981, in Khorok village, Armavir region, Armenia.
He received his primary education at the local secondary school.
After graduating from school, he served in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia.
In 2002, he was admitted to the Gevorkian Theological Seminary of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
On December 25, 2006, he was ordained a deacon by His Grace Bishop Ararat Galtagchyan.
After graduating from the Theological Seminary in 2008, he was appointed to serve at the Department of Economics of Mother See of Holy Echmiadzin.
From 2009 to 2012, Rev. Fr. Gevorg Asatryan was appointed to serve at a Military Unite of the Arm Forces of Nagorno-Karabakh as a chaplain.
From 2012 to 2018, Rev. Fr. Gevorg Asatryan was appointed to serve at the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Armavir as the Pastor of St. Astvatsamayr (Holy Mother of God) Church in Artimet and as the Visiting Pastor of Aratashen villages of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Armavi.
On June 10, 2018, he was consecrated and ordained as a secular (married) priest by His Grace Bishop Tatev Hakobyan in St. Gregory the Illuminator Mother Cathedral of Yerevan, Armenia.
On July 30, 2018, by the order of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, Rev. Fr. Gevorg Asatryan was appointed to serve at the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia.
By the order of His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakanyan, the Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia, Rev. Fr. Gevorg Asatryan was appointed to serve at the Vicariate of Samtskhe-Javakheti and Tsalka as the Pastor of St. Karapet Church of Ganza and as the Visiting Pastor of Ninotsminda region.
Rev. Fr. Gevorg Asatryan is married and has one son.
