REVEREND FATHER ARCHPRIEST YEGHISHE HARUTYUNYAN

Ter EgisheReverend Father Archpriest Yeghishe Harutyunyan (baptismal name is Razmik) was born on September 1, 1939 in Gyumri, Armenia.

From 1946 to 1956, Rev. Fr. Yeghishe studied at the secondary school № 51 in Gyumri, Armenia.

In 1959, he entered the Gevorkian Theological Seminary of the Mother See of Holy Echmiadzin. From 1960 to 1961, Archpriest Yeghishe Harutyunyan served in the Soviet Army as a civilian. In 1962, he continued his education at the Gevorkian Theological Seminary of the Mother See of Holy Echmiadzin.

In 1968, he was ordained as a deacon by His Eminence Archbishop Haykazun Abrahamian.

In 1969, he was consecrated and ordained as a secular (married) priest by His Grace Bishop Vahan Kostanya, the Vicar of Araratian Patriarchal Diocese of Yerevan, in the Cathedral of St. George in Tbilisi and given the priestly name of Yeghishe.

In 1969, Rev. Fr. Yeghishe was appointed to serve at Surb Khach (Holy Cross) Church in Akhalkalaki, Georgia.

In 1972, by the order of His Eminence Archbishop Komitas Ter-Stepanosyan, the Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia, Rev. Fr. Harutyunyan was appointed to serve at St. Echmiadzin Church in Tbilisi, Georgia.

On July 17, 1976, by the order of His Eminence Archbishop Gevorg Seraidaryan, the Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia was moved to serve at the Cathedral of St. George in Tbilisi and was granted the right to wear the Pectoral Cross.

On August 25, 1990, Rev. Fr. Yeghishe Harutyunyan was granted the title of Archpriest.

On April 1, 2003, by the order of His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakanyan, the Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia, Archpriest Yeghishe Harutyunyan was appointed to serve at the Cathedral of St. George in Tbilisi, Georgia, as the Pastor.

On June 1, 2005, Archpriest Harutyunyan was appointed to serve at St. Echmiadzin Church in Tbilisi, Georgia, as the Pastor.

On October 1, 2006, Archpriest Yeghishe was appointed to serve at the Cathedral of St. George in Tbilisi, Georgia, as the Grand Sacristan.

On July 1, 2010, Archpriest Harutyunyan was appointed to serve in Armenian communities in Marneuli, Tetri-Tsqaro, Bolnisi and Dmanisi regions as the Spiritual Pastor.

On April 1, 2012, by the order of His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakanyan, the Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia, Archpriest Yeghishe Harutyunyan was appointed to serve at the “Hayartun” Cultural Educational and Youth Center of Tbilisi, Georgia, as the Spiritual Supervisor.

On November 12, 2012, Archpriest Yeghishe Harutyunyan briefly was appointed to serve at St. Gregory Illuminator Church of Akhaltsikhe as the Pastor of under the authority and supervision of the Vicar General of the Vicariate of Samtskhe-Javakheti and Tsalka

In 2019, by the order of Very Reverend Archimandrite Father Kirakos Davtyan, the Locum Tenens of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia, Archpriest Yeghishe Harutyunyan was appointed to serve at the Cathedral of St. George in Tbilisi, Georgia, as the Assistant of the Pastor.
