"RAPHAEL JAVAKH" EDUCATION AND CULTURE CENTER
"Raphael Javakh" Education and Culture Center operates adjacent to St. Sarkis church of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia in Ninotsminda and holds the name of Raphael Gharslyan, author of several books, who was born in the village of Heshtia.
The building of the Center was purchased with the benevolence of brothers Armen and Tatul.
The Center aims to cultivate skills in fostering national consciousness and thinking, spiritual revival, and a deeper connection to Armenian culture among the youth of the region.
Educational and cultural groups operate in the center. They are:
- History of the Armenian Apostolic Church
- Armenian history
- English language group
- Recitation studio
- Choir
- Fine art group
- Folk and national dance group
- ArMat engineering laboratory
- Preschool
- Development center
- Press department
The Center has a 100-seat hall equipped with necessary technical support and 3 training rooms. The Center is managed by a coordination board and guided by an appropriate work plan.
The Center organizes a variety of events, including educational, cultural, spiritual, cognitive, and physical education activities, all aimed at fostering the different aspects of the national upbringing of Armenian boys and girls.
Publishing activities are also part of the center's endeavors. Calendars, relating to the secular and spiritual revival of the Center's and the region’s life, historical events, as well as spiritual and secular feasts, are printed and distributed to the people.
Pilgrimages to spiritual and historical places in Georgia and Armenia, cultural centers, and the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin are organized.
The knowledge acquired at the Center is assessed through general essays, exams, and tests. Additionally, intellectual games, quizzes, and question-and-answer evenings are organized for young people.
The Center actively participates in external events. It performs a concert program during the celebrations of poetry days such as those dedicated to Gh. Aghayan, Vahan Teryan, Victor Hovsepyan, Havasi, and Jivani, as well as Satkha Day.
The Center’s staff consists of 16 people.
