Youth Department - Director: Emil Sargsyan

The Youth Department of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia is dedicated to uniting the Armenian youth of Georgia around the Church, assisting in their Armenian upbringing, and instilling devotion to the noble ideas of national preservation. The unification of the youth unions from various churches serves this purpose. The activities of these youth unions are expanding and gaining momentum day by day.

One of the goals of the Youth Department is to educate young leaders. To this end, various seminars and conferences are organized, with the participation of young people both in the capital and in Armenian-populated regions. These seminars, workshops, and conferences contribute to revitalizing community life, organizing events, and making the daily lives of young people in these regions and villages more engaging and meaningful.

The Youth Department is also focused on the civic education of Armenian youth. Weekly lectures on the history of the Armenian Church, the Armenian people, and civic education help young people gain a clear understanding of their rights and responsibilities, facilitating their integration into Georgian society. Additionally, pilgrimages to historical sites in Georgia and the homeland are organized, with the participation of Armenian youth across various regions of Georgia.

The Youth Department has several sub-departments, each headed by a leader who coordinates the work, plans new programs, and develops and implements projects.

The Youth Department of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia works closely with the Jinishian Memorial Foundation, which funds several diocesan projects. One of these is the multi-year "Civic Dialogue and Action for Change 2023-2024" project, aimed at promoting societal development and inspiring change.

The Youth Department of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia closely collaborates with the Ministries of Sports and Youth, Culture, Education and Science of Georgia. It also maintains strong ties with the relevant ministries in Armenia, including those of Sports and Youth Affairs, Diaspora, Culture, and Education and Science. The Department actively participates in their projects, initiates various proposals, and implements joint programs.
