"Bridge" theater troupe visit to Tbilisi and Hakob Paronyan's "Honorable Beggars" comedy performance

On May 1-2, 2024, at the invitation and support of the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Kirakos Davtyan, the "Bridge"(Kamurj) theater troupe of RA "Bridge of Hope" NGO headed by Hasmik Khacheryan was hosted in Tbilisi.

The Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Kirakos Davtyan received the guests. His Grace expressed his interest in the activities of the theater troupe and presented the history of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia to the guests, historical spiritual figures who once served here. The Diocesan Primate handed out souvenirs to the students of the theater troupe and joined them for a group photo.

At the "Hayartun" Center of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, the "Bridge" theater troupe, consisting of students with disabilities of the "Bridge of Hope" NGO, presented to the Armenian audience in Tbilisi Hakob Paronyan’s "Honorable Beggars" comedy directed by Levon Ivanyan. The heroes of the Armenian satirist were expertly presented by teenagers Denis Vardanyan, Grigor Saribekyan, Hambardzum Sargsyan, Levon Hovhannisyan, Elen Sargsyan, Elen Avetisyan, Vahe Sargsyan, Vanessa Ghukasyan and Hamlet Piltoyan.

Among those in attendance were Gagik Yekmalyan, diplomat of the RA Embassy in Georgia; Anna Sargsyan, employee of the Kingdom of Denmark Embassy in Georgia, priest Rev. Father Hovsep Harutyunyan, as well as many guests, parents, and students.

The visit of teenagers with disabilities to Tbilisi was also organized by the "Hayartun" Center, with the support of the center’s head Eugenia Markosyan, and with the mediation of the parents of Margarita Giloyan, a former student of the center's choir.

The days of persons with disabilities in Tbilisi were happy, interesting, meaningful, full of events and visits to the Armenian churches of St. Gevork and St. Etchmiadzin in Avlabari, as well as historical and sightseeing places.

Established in 1997, the goal of the "Bridge" theater group is to eliminate the barriers that separate children and promote the inclusion of students with disabilities in society.

The above-mentioned theater group, which has been operating for decades, has performed in almost all cities and regions of Armenia, participated in the "Sachukari" (Gift) festival in Tbilisi, and performed at the opening of a conference dedicated to inclusive education in Istanbul. "Bridge" theater group has branches in Dilijan, Ijevan, Noyemberyan, and Berd.

The "Bridge of Hope" NGO cooperates with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in Georgia and the Republic of Armenia. Funded by the New Democracy Fund of Denmark, the “Bridge” Theater implements its project with the organization's long-time partner, the humanitarian organization "Mission to the East".
