Dr. Hakob Ayntaplyan's Visit to Georgia
Hakob Ayntaplyan, a member of the New York Academy of Sciences, a physician, cardiologist, Doctor, and Professor, visited Tbilisi. In addition to medicine, the 85-year-old Armenian scientist is active in public life, studies Armenian linguistics, writes poems that soon become songs, and engages in school construction and charity initiatives.
On November 13, 2024, His Grace Bishop Kirakos Davtyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, received Hakob Ayntaplyan at the Cathedral of Saint George in Tbilisi. During the conversation, various issues of mutual interest were touched upon.
At a meeting with representatives of the Armenian community held at Hovhannes Tumanyan's former apartment in Tbilisi, Hakob Ayntaplyan delivered a speech on various issues of the mother tongue, homeland, education, and culture, during which he kindly answered questions of interest to those present.
The meeting also featured wonderful performances of classical songs by specially arrived singer Luiza Yeremyan, accompanied by composer and pianist Margarit Sargsyan, professor of the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory.
Attendees took with them a dictionary of Armenian equivalents of foreign words compiled by Doctor and Professor Hakob Ayntaplyan and Professor Artem Sargsyan, and the collection of poems "Pnjik" by Hovh Tumanyan, published with the support of Antaplyan.
