Pilgrimage to Tumanyan places
On September 14-15, 2024, as part of the events dedicated to the 155th anniversary of Hovhannes Tumanyan, with the blessing and support of the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Kirakos Davtyan, Gohar Mazmanyan and Edita Zohrabyan, staff members of "House of Hovhannes Tumanyan" Center of Science and Culture in Tbilisi, were hosted in the village of Dsegh, Hovhannes Tumanyan's birthplace.
Roza Ghazumyan, head of the local Hovhaness Tumanyan House-Museum, tour guide Ani Ghazumyan, and Verichka Aghajanyan, head of the museum's fund, engaged the guests from Tbilisi into participation in the events entitled "Tnitstun" (from home to home). The events included a visit to the house-museum of Hovhannes Tumanyan in the village of Dsegh, watching the videos about the achievements of Tumanyan centers in Tbilisi and Dsegh during recent years, as well as a pilgrimage called "Tnitstun" to Tumanyan places - the rural house where the future Great Poet from Lori was born, spent his childhood and youth, the Gikor’s spring, St. Grigor Monastery (10-13th century), Siroun khach, Tsover lake, St. Gregory the Illuminator Church (5-8th century) and other places.
