Service of the Passion and Crucifixion of Christ offered in Armenian Churches in Tbilisi

On April 3, 2026, the services of Holy Friday were held in the churches of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. Holy Friday is the day of remembrance of the sufferings, Crucifixion, death, and burial of Jesus Christ.

With a heartfelt desire to partake in this holy mystery, devoted Armenian women of Tbilisi adorned the Lord’s Tomb with flowers and branches at the Cathedral of St. George and Holy Etchmiadzin Church of Avlabari. The faithful then gathered in the various churches of the Diocese for a joint prayer and spiritual participation in the sufferings of the Lord. On that day, following the morning service, the Service of the Crucifixion was held in the Diocesan churches.
