The student summit of the Youth Department of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia

On October 22, 2022, the student summit of the Youth Department of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia was held at the "Radius" hotel in Tbilisi. The event was implemented within the framework of the “Civic Dialogue and Practical Steps for Changes 2021-2022” project of the Jinishian Memorial Foundation. The summit was attended by 25 students studying at the higher educational institutions of Kvemo Kartli, Samtskhe Javakheti, and Tbilisi, Georgia.

Emil Sargsyan, head of the Youth Department of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia gave opening remarks at the summit, informed that it has a concluding nature, accompanied by a discussion of the issues related to diocesan and community life.

Rev. Father Kirakos Simonyan who attended the event conveyed blessings of the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, Rev. Father Archimandrite Kirakos Davtyan and his good wishes for the summit activities. Rev. Father Kirakos highlighted the issues of gathering young people around the Church, being actively involved in the diocesan life, and living by Christian commandments.

The attendees listened to the lecture of Gevorg Grigoryan, a lecturer from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.

Young ambassadors from Germany, Sweden, and Great Britain joined the summit with online speeches.

The summit took place in a question-and-answer format. Students raised various issues interesting to them.
