Film dedicated to Zakarian Long-Armed at "Hayartun" Center of Armenian Diocese in Georgia

On March 16, 2025, at the "Hayartun" Center of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, with the blessing of the Diocesan Primate, His Grace Bishop Kirakos Davtyan, and at the initiative of the Union of Armenian Intellectuals of Georgia (Chairman: historian Yenok Tadevosyan), a film from the "Our Greats" series was screened. The film was about the legacy of the Zakarian dynasty, particularly the contributions of Armenian prince, statesman, and military leader Zakare Zakarian, who served as amir-general of the Armenian-Georgian joint army, and his brother Ivane Zakarian, an autocratic ruler, statesman, and diplomat, whose influence spanned Armenia and Georgia from the 11th to the 14th centuries.
The documentary film tells the story of the victories and the strengthening of sovereignty in Armenia and Georgia during the period of state and political activity of the Mkhargrdzeli brothers, also known as the Long-Armed.
At the end of the film, Rev. Father Kirakos Simonyan highlighted the victories achieved against foreign tyrants between the 1200s and 1350s, attributing them to the effective combination of force and diplomacy.
In conclusion, words of gratitude were expressed to the "Grand Candy" company of the Republic of Armenia for its continuous support in providing the "Hayartun" Center of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia with documentary films from the "Our Greats" series.
