Joyful Median Day (Mijink) Surprises at St. Moses of Khoren Preschool of Armenian Diocese in Georgia
On March 11, 2026, the 24th day of Great Lent, known as Mijink, brought delightful surprises to the children of St. Moses of Khoren (Surb Movses Khorenatsi) Preschool of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. Bringing delicious and beautifully decorated Armenian gata, the children were visited by Rev. Father Hovsep Harutyunyan and Khachatur Ter-Balyan, the cross-bearer of St. Etchmiadzin church in Avalabari.
Eugenia Markosyan, director of the “Hayartun” Center, introduced the children to the guests, who had come with sweets. Rev. Father Hovsep conveyed the blessings of His Grace Bishop Kirakos Davtyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, and explained the mystery of the festive day to the little ones. Before tasting the treats, the children recited the Lord's prayer and the prayer “May we partake in peace.”
Then, the church cross-bearer distributed the gata he had brought to all the children. Their joy was boundless when three of the treats revealed small crosses inside, a delightful surprise for Mijink.
The festive day truly became a joyful and fun occasion for the little ones at the diocesan preschool.
