Azavret village - Surb Mesrop Mashtots (Saint Mesrop Mashtots) church
St. Mesrop the Translator church: was built in 1868.
It has a double-storey belfry on the western facet. ‘’…They had a magnificent church, with sacred stone but covered with wood’’78, an eyewitness had noted in 1885. It was hit by the earthquake on 19 December, 189979.
Now the church is standing; it is in good condition.
The only engraving (four lines) are on the lintel of the entrance door opened from the southern facet:
SAINT MESROVB THE TRANSLATOR CHURCH / ARMENIAN TEMPLE OF ARMENIAN PEOPLE IN AZAIRET VILLAGE / 1868 YEAR.
