On September 10, 2016, the Surb Astvatsatsin (Holy Mother of God) chapel in the village of Burnashet, Tsalka region, was blessed.

Razmik Avetisyan, from the Avetisyan family, built the chapel on the territory of his father’s house with the support of his brother and other family members.

The blessing ceremony was offered by Rev. Father Babken Salbiyan, Prelate at Samtskhe-Javakheti and Tsalka’s General Prelacy. Rev. Father Tadeos Ter-Mkrtchyan, Rev. Father Tatev Marukyan, and Rev. Father Ghevond Topashyan were present.

On that day, the clergy also blessed the khachkar (cross-stone) placed in the courtyard of the chapel, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Holy Martyrs of the Armenian Genocide.
